Thank you ladies and gentlemen. Now, under the status quo, Japan is suffering from the lack of electricity, and japan depends on nuclear power generation very largely. (震災に絡んで電力不足だということをやはり言うべきではないかなー)Because nuclear power generation is the vital energy source for japan, it is impossible to abolish nuclear power generation and promote alternative energy resources. (文頭のbecauseはsinceにしなさいって高校の先生が言ってた)In addition, abolishing nuclear power generation will cause economic problems. In my speech, there are three arguments.I will explain one by one. Our first argument is the problems of alternative energy resources.「AreaのA」を入れましょう。 If japan abolish nuclear power generation, it will have to promote alternative energy resources. MRを言うくらいなら下の名前をつけたほうがわかりやすいかなーと個人的には) a business consultant, about 70% of Japanese natural energy is produced by hydroelectric power generation, and about 30% is produced by biomass generation. However, the rate of other generations such as solar generation or wind generation is less than 1%. He says it is impossible to promote hydroelectric generation or biomass generation any more. This is because most Japanese land which is suitable for hydroelectric power generation is already used, and cheap biomass fuels are decreasing. Therefore, Japan will have to depend on wind generation or solar generation. However these generations have so many problems. According to sankei news, 2011.7.11, solar power generation cost three times as much as thermal power generation. Mr.Son, the president of softbank proposed a plan to introduce solar panels in 10000 households. This will cost 12 trillion yen, which will finally become the burden on people. Wind generation has problems too. Japan is not suitable to make wind generation because japan is a small countriy and typhoons come to japan so frequently. It will cost too much to use Japanese small and mountainous land for wind generation. As I explained alternative energy resources have so many problems. Our second argument is green house gases(特に温室効果ガスという括りにしたいこだわりがないのならCO2という表記のほうが伝わりやすいんじゃないかな?). In general, nuclear power generation is said to emit less CO2.(全体を見るとlessですが、発電中にCO2を出す火力などと比べると、原発は発電によりCO2は出さないので、emit no CO2 in electricity generation processという風に大きく出てもいいと思います。) Japan is now trying to reduce CO2 emission. (京都議定書、鳩山総理の発言など国際社会への約束として、削減を掲げているという表現にしたほうがより深刻さが出るかな?)If japan abandon nuclear power generation, japan will have to depend on thermal power generation, which emits more CO2 than other ways. According to Yomiurishinbun, 2011.6.8, if japan abandon all nuclear power plants and use thermal power plants for the loss, CO2 emission will increase by about 15% in 2020. Japan set a goal to reduce CO2 emission by 25% by 2020. If japan abandon nuclear power generation, japan will be unable to achieve this goal. If japan lower the goal, japan will send a message that japan doesn t mind environmental problems, and lose international trust, and finally lose its power in the world community.(この結論はいいと思いますが、「地球温暖化が進む恐れ」という本来の結論も入れておくと良いと思います。) Our third argument is impact on the economy.「economyに悪影響がでるという結論をはじめに」 According to the researches by fujitsu, electricity charges will increase by 19.4% in 2012, and the increase of electricity charges per one household will be about 23,000 yen per year. According to the Minister in Charge of Economic and Fiscal Policy, Mr.Yosano says if japan abandons nuclear power generation, Japanese GDP will decrease. After taking this proposal, japan will have to import more and more fossil fuels and Japanese money will spread to other countries, and Japanese GDP will decrease. According to him, if stable electricity supply stops after abolishing nuclear power generation, companies may move to other countries where they can get stable electricity and cheap labor, and in this point, GDP will decrease too. 精密機器もそうかな?)According to hokuriku electronic company, Japan imports uranium mainly from Australia or Canada. These countries are politically stable. However, Japan imports fossil fuels from a small number of countries, most of which are developing countries. Therefore, if these countries stop exporting fossil fuels , japan will be unable to ensure enough electricity and will be forced to suffer from serious lack of electricity. Finally Japanese electricity charges will increase, and consumption will be weak, and Japanese economy will be worse. Finally, I want to summarize my speech. As I explained, if Japan abandon nuclear power generation, many problems will happen, and these problems will finally lead to economic problems. In order to avoid such problems, japan shouldn t abandon nuclear power generation. Thank you for listening. The biggest earthquake in history) is (was?)happened at sanriku-oki. The earthquake is very big and it causes Tsunami. (ここまですべて現在時制になってますが、過去形にすべきじゃないでしょうか)They damage to Tohoku area seriously(is was very serious ). And the most serious problem is the damage to nuclear power plant. And now many people suffer from it. nuclear power generation cause many trouble , so we strongly believe we should abundant it. Then we move to our argument. We have three arguments. First is the accidental possibility(この表記にする意図が特にないのなら、the possibility of accidentsがベターではないでしょうか). Second is how to dispose of waste materials. Third is the necessity. So I will explain about first argument. Our first argument is dangerousness of nuclear power generation. It has two clear troubles. One is the possibility of accident and second is how to dispose of waste materials. So far there are many troubles about the plant.(具体的に何ですか。 And what is more, it caused not only by nature but also by human error. Three accident happened for only one mouth. Once the accident happen, a lot of(具体的な量を) radioactivity spread to wide area(遠くは~までといった例を). And it does citizen harm such as the people live in Fukushima.(wide areaと若干矛盾します。Not only Fukushima People, but also Tokyo area peopleのような表記がいいのでは?) The accident of nuclear power generation is often happened and it emits a lot of radioactivity. So nuclear power generation is very dangerous. Then let me explain our second argument. Our second argument is how to dispose of waste materials. After generating electricity, nuclear power plant takes out of a lot of radioactive waste. According to Ministry of Economy(噂によると出典まで聞かれる場合があると言いますので、しっかり元データは残しておいてくださいね), we dispose of radioactive waste in the way of deep geological disposal. But it has problem. It is it can leak radioactivity. To remove completely, it takes about 1,000,000 years. We believe that we cannot protect such a long time because the case become friable and it is broken when the earthquake happen. According to Asahi newspaper, approximately 10% of all earthquakes are caused in japan. The shelter cannot protect radioactivity from these earthquake.(具体例が出てて良いと思います。) The third is about the necessary. Now under the status quo, we use nuclear power to generate electricity. But we can cover without using the dangerous way. The electrical demand can cover by thermal power generation. According to Koide Hiroaki, there are too many power plants and now only 48% of them are moved. Regarding thermal power, we also use it only half of all. Even if we generate electricity by thermal power instead of by nuclear, the capacity factor becomes about 70%. As we can see, the electricity is filled without using nuclear power. For these reason, we strong believe that Japan should abandon nuclear power generation. That is all. Thank you for listening.

Under the status quo, students enter a university at April in Japan. However, according to a Tokyo university’s report, about seventy-percent countries hold university’s entrance in fall and about eighty-percent European and American countries hold university’s entrance in fall. Therefore, Japanese universities have trouble dealing with globalization. If Japanese universities change entrance ceremony in April into in fall, it will be easy for Japanese universities to deal with globalization and also there are merits for students. So, we want to explain merits for both universities and students sides one by one. 1. In 80% of European countries, and in America, academic year starts in fall. 5.If Japanese universities change entrance ceremony in April into in fallという表現は、入学式の時期についてを言及するよりは、 If Japanese universities start its academic year in the fallといった方がストレートに伝わると思います。 First, we want to explain merits for universities. After plan, we believe Japanese universities will become high level universities. High level mean more active exchange other countries on students and studies. As I said before, many countries’ universities take entrance in fall but in Japan take in April. Therefore, Japanese universities have difficulty connecting with foreign countries’ universities and students. We believe that situation leads to gap of the qualities of Japanese universities and foreign counties’ universities. Furthermore, that gap will lead to big gap between Japanese competitions and foreign countries’ competition and finally many Japanese companies will lose other foreign companies. Therefore, the present Japanese universities’ entrance season will be very big harm for Japan. However, If Japanese universities change the season of the entrance in April into in fall, Japanese universities are able to cope with globalization easily because many countries’ universities take entrance in fall. After plan, it is easy for foreign countries’ students to go to Japanese universities because university entrance season is same and so foreign countries’ students don’t worry about Japanese universities’ schedule. Therefore, the number of students studying abroad in Japan will increase and Japanese universities can get more foreign countries’ excellent students easily. And also, Japanese universities can make more relationship with foreign universities on the points of studies and education. In short, Japanese universities can do cooperative studies with foreign educational institutions more easily. It is very big merits for Japanese universities because they can get foreign various knowledge and skills. 1. After planはAfter taking this proposalの方がいいと思います。 2.High level mean more active exchange other countries on students and studies.Second, we want to explain merits for universities. We define high level universities as universities(onesでも いいかもしれません) which interact with foreign universities actively and exchange their cultures or knowledge. 3.We believe that situation leads to gap of the qualities of Japanese universities and foreign counties’ universities. gapは二つの数字の差異を表すみたいなので、この場合は、disparity in quality of education between Japanese universities and foreign universities. 4.in April into in fallはfrom April into September or Octoberの方がわかりやすいと思います。 5.After plan, it is easy for foreign countries’ students to go to Japanese universities because university entrance season is same and so foreign countries’ students don’t worry about Japanese universities’ schedule. First, Japanese students can use half gap year effectively. Half gap year is between universities’ entrance examination and universities’ entrance. Students can get social experience in half gap year. For example, by doing internship or volunteer activities students get social experience. We want to explain why half gap year is important on such timing. Many students study very hard for entrance examination. Therefore many students are lack of time that students think why they study at university or why they want to study at university and students confirm what want to do in the future. It is very bad situation because many university students are at a loss what is the things they want to do and why they study at university and their motivation decreases and finally they stop studying and going to university. However, after plan, students get half gap year and can think enough what they want to do at university, what they want to do after university and why they enter the university by spending half gap year and doing internship or volunteer activities. For example, according to a Japan working holiday association, in British twenty percent students who don’t use half gap year leave school before graduating but student who use half gap year rate of leaving school before graduating school is only three percent. This is because many students who use half gap year make clear the aim of studying at university while think a state of world affairs and their major field. Second, companies require students who can think by themselves and act and have communication skill. Many students can get independency, ability to solve problem, and communication skill by doing volunteer activities or internship in half gap year. Therefore, for companies and students half gap year is good term. Third, students can improve their internationally-minded because after plan, there will be more foreign country students and many Japanese students have more chance to communicate with foreign country students and learn various culture and value. For these reason, We support this topic. 1.half gap yearはgap of half a yearまたはgap of six monthsがいいと思います。 2.Therefore many students are lack of time that students think why they study at university or why they want to study at university and students confirm what want to do in the future.はTherefore, many students do not have enough time to think about why they study or what they want to do in the future. lackを使うなら、動詞として使って、lack time to think about..... 3.improve internationally-mindedは不自然なので、students will become more internationally-mindedのほうが自然でしょう。 At present, almost all of Japanese universities do an entrance ceremony in spring. In this time, we discuss about(discussは他動詞なのでaboutは不要です) autumnal admission. Some people will say that Japanese university should introduce autumnal admission. Certainly, autumnal admission has some merits, but it is usual thing that all things have merit and demerit. So, most important thing is that if the thing has more merits than demerits. For example(何の例なのかがわかりにくいので、The previous speaker said...とするか、we can expect that....as a merit. , autumnal admission is useful for student studying abroad(for students to study abroadの方がわかりやすいと思います。), because almost all of country’s universities(文法的に少し不自然なので、because in most countries academic year starts in fallなどはいかがでしょうか。) do autumnal admission. It is convenient for Japanese university to interact with foreign universities. Other example, autumnal admission has possibility to change Japanese company’s system of Simultaneous recruiting of new graduates. Then, is it really that autumnal admission has more merits than demerits? We do not think so. We think autumnal admission has fatal demerits if Japanese university introduces it.(thinkではなくbelieveが適切でしょう。) First, it gives rise to gap term for half year(gap of half a yearが公式だと思います) between graduation of(from) high school and matriculation. Basically, graduation of high school is done in spring. So, autumnal admission gives rise to gap term for half year. To tell the truth, gap term is usual thing in foreign country. For example, in Britain, approximately eight percent of freshmen utilize gap term to experience versatile things such as volunteer, internship, studying abroad, and so on. However, utilizing gap term is voluntary in foreign country. Not all freshmen choose to utilize gap term. But, if Japanese university introduces autumnal admission, all freshmen are forced to choose to utilize gap term. It is big problem. It is a big problem, because....), volunteer, internship, and studying abroad need a lot of money. Not all Japanese parents have abundant money to let their son or daughter do such things. Moreover, ordinary Japanese university students have long summer vacation and spring vacation. So, these are good chances which experience such things(whichはここではgood chancesを表すので、文意が通りませんね。when they can experience such thingsなどはどうでしょうか。). Second, autumnal admission do graduates fatal harm. If students get into university in autumn, their graduation is done in four years later autumn necessarily. But, in japan, specific examinations such as civil service examination or state examination are done in spring. So, people who want to be public servant, lawyer, doctor and so on are forced to wait for about half year between graduation and examination. In the meantime, they spend a lot of time in doing nothing like a “neet”. To the letter, they are not in education, employment or training. So, they have no productivity and they spend a lot of wasted times. Additionally, ordinary companies do employment examination in spring. Therefore, autumnal admission is inconvenient for not only specific jobs which need qualification, but also ordinary jobs. Third, autumnal admission does foreign students who want to study in japan harm(目的語が長いので、does harm to.... . Autumnal admission gets rid of gap term of a new school term between Japanese universities and those of foreign countries. Until now, this gap term is(has beenの方がいいかも) used to prepare for studying in japan by foreign students. If Japanese universities do autumnal admission, foreign student who want to study in japan lose preparation time. Generally, it is important for people to go abroad with no(文意を考えるとenoughやsufficientじゃないでしょうか。) preparation. It complicates studying in japan. So, autumnal admission has danger to Japanese universities which decrease the number of foreign students studying in japan(この表現は若干伝わりにくいと思います。Therefore, autumnal admission will lead to the decrease in the number of exchange students in japanなどはどうでしょうか). Actuary, Japanese students also are damaged(damegeは被害や損害を受けるという意味なので、This plan is disadvantageous for students...などの方がいいと思います) because they also have no time to prepare for studying abroad. So, autumnal admission does harm not only foreign students but also Japanese students. It put the cart before the horse. In summary, autumnal admission has three fatal demerits. First, it gives rise to gap term between graduation of high school and entering of university. It can damage student’s parents because it needs a lot of money. Second, gap term between graduation of university and entering of company or examination of public servant, lawyer, doctor, and so on also do harm many graduated students, because, generally, employment or national examination is done in spring in japan. So, graduated students are forced to spend a lot of wasted time. Third, it removes gap term between Japanese universities and foreign universities. It is inconvenient to Japanese and foreign students who want to study abroad, because it robs them of time(toを入れましょう) prepare for studying abroad. For these reasons, autumnal admission has less merit than demerit.
