夏のあらし!(小林尽) byよっしー 「夏のあらし!」は「スクールランブル」の作者、小林尽先生の作品です。 ガンガンWING、JOKERで連載。スクランが好きなので若干それとの比較とか共通点とかを指摘しつつ、レビューしていきたいと思います。 スクラン読んでない人にはちょっとわからない部分もあると思いますが・・・ 以下「夏のあらし!」のあらすじを。 あらすじ:中一の夏休みを利用して、主人公八坂一は田舎の祖父の家に泊まりに来ていた。 その街で偶然入った喫茶店「箱舟」でアルバイトをしていた“あらし”に出会い、一目惚れする。 とあることで二人の手が触れたとき、一瞬雷のような衝撃を二人は感じる。 「通じた!」という言葉発し、あらしは一を連れて突然外へ飛び出す。 とある裏山に連れて行きその林を抜けると、そこには過去の町の情景が広がっている。 突然の出来事で戸惑う一だが、それが自分の初めてのタイムトリップ体験ということを知る。 それから二人が一緒にいるときはタイムトリップができるようになり、現代と過去を行き来することになる。 物語 連載当初のキャッチコピーは「過去と現在が交差するノスタルジックファンタジー」。 確かに作品全体にもどこかノスタルジックな雰囲気があります。季節は夏ですね。 物語序盤は基本的にタイムトリップネタを織り交ぜたコメディとして描かれています。 しかし物語が進んでいくにつれてあらしの過去やタイムトリップについての謎が明らかになってゆき、 話がより重く、シリアスなものになっていきます。 正直最初はスクランみたいなラブコメかなって感じでこの漫画を読み始めました。 それに若干タイムトリップとかのファンタジー要素が増えた、みたいな。 実際読み進めていくと作品が取り扱っているテーマの重さに驚きました。命とか戦争とか。 ちなみにタイムトリップできる過去はだいたい戦時中です。 でも軍事的な要素は少なく、戦時中の学生とかが中心に描かれます。 キャラクター 特徴豊かなキャラクターが登場しますが、それらはスクランのキャラのそれぞれの要素を組み合わせてできた感があります。 たとえばカヤというキャラクター。 外国人という点では沢近の要素をもっていますが性格はおとなしく、 でも譲れないものに関しては頑固、というところは八雲の要素ももっています。 そのほかにも明らかにスクランキャラの特徴を組み合わせて誕生しただろうキャラクターが多数存在します。 スクランを読んだことがある人は是非その点を意識して読んでもらいたいです。 3、作画 基本的な人物の作画はスクラン連載終了から若干クオリティが上がったというかんじでしょうか。 背景は特に力を入れて描いている感じがして、きれいに描かれています。どこか懐かしい雰囲気を感じますね。 しかし、場面によって作画が激変するという作風はやはり継承されています。 あるヒロインを持ち上げるようなシーンであれば1ページ使ってきれいな絵を描いたと思えば、激しく泣く、怒るというような、 キャラが激情するシーンでは太い線でリアルに、人間味あふれるタッチで描かれます。 そのぶんそれ以外の作画は簡略化されるようなところもありますが、無理はなく描かれています。 正直スクランの後半の作画が好きじゃない人にとってはオススメできないと思いますが、俺は結構おもしろい趣向だと思います。 背景でも作画の激変がうかがえ、特に戦時中の空襲のシーンでは日常的な風景とはうってかわって緊迫感や迫力が増し、 その恐怖がすぐそこにあるかのように感じ取れます。結構残酷な表現もあるので、このあたりはこの作品ならではな感じがしますね。 全体的に評価すると「夏のあらし」はコメディ要素が少なく、シリアスな話が結構多めな感じですね。 やっぱキャラクターとかのこともあるのでスクラン読んだ後に読むことをオススメします。 この二つを書いた後に次はどんな話を書くのか、小林尽先生の今後にも期待です。
